Nokia E5 phone goes on sale, pricier than expected
Nokia’s E5 QWERTY packing handset goes on sale today.
First revealed back in April at Nokia’s Connect event, the Symbian S60 handset includes a four line hardware keyboard, a 2.4 inch QVGA screen and extensive social networking support.
The E5’s key features according to Nokia are
-Work and personal email accounts from the homescreen
-Super quick, intuitive set up for email
-Free Ovi Maps – a Sat Nav and pedestrian turn by turn navigator with richly informative TimeOut, Expedia, Michelin, Lonely Planet, Qype and Trip Advisor applications for most countries
-Business-grade security and device management functions such as remote locking with SMS and device and memory card encryption
-Internet access (HSDPA/HSUPA and WLAN)
-5 MP camera
However, it’s taken quite a bump up in price since we last saw it. Back in April it had been rumoured to retail for around £160, but its SIM-free price today has been revealed to be £259. Ouch.
