Mac App Store to launch next week?
Rumour has it that the long-awaited Mac App Store could be launching as early as December 13th of next week, with Steve Jobs pushing to have it on computers before the lucrative Chrismas rush.
Though modelled fairly similarly to the App Stores on the iPhone and iPad, the Mac version will have one notable difference; there will be no free apps on the store.
Laying down strict guidelines for the store in October, developers will not be able to offer trial or lite versions of their software. According to Apple:
“Your website is the best place to provide demos, trial versions, or betas of your software for customers to explore. The apps you submit to be reviewed for the Mac App Store should be fully functional, retail versions of your apps.”
