Toshiba readying huge iPhone screen factory
Share
Toshiba are to build a gigantic 100 billion yen (£757 million) factory dedicated to manufacturing LCD screens. The planned work is part of a partnership with Apple to supply the Cupertino company with displays for their iPhone and iPod ranges.
Set to be built in Ishikawa Prefecture, the factory will specialise in high-res LCDs, just like those found in Apple’s retina displays. The plant will be finished sometime during the second half of 2011, with Apple footing some of the bill.
It’s win-win for both companies; Apple get a dedicated supply factory for its displays, while Toshiba’s manufacturing output for the screens doubles to 17 million units.

You will just have to make the best of it for now as you usually do
Interesting, I always thought it was Samsung that made the screens on the iPhone 4.
