Android fans with a strong knowledge of Mandarin will like this: here’s the first official video walkthrough of Google’s Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS update.

Admittedly, we haven’t got a clue what’s being said in the video, so if anyone can translate and pop what’s going on in the comments below you’d be doing 99% of Tech Digest readers a big favour.

What we can figure out from the video though is that the app Market now has a third tab for finding related applications and that we quite like the new green and black colour scheme. Reminds me of a great evening I spent drinking absinthe once, but that’s probably a post for another blog altogether.

We can’t really spot any major changes from the vid other than the cosmetic ones listed above. From the looks of things Google are holding out for Honeycomb to ring in the big changes.

  • This is such a great resource that you are providing and you give it away for free. I love seeing websites that understand the value of providing a quality resource for free. Thanks.

  • Main demo is just showing off its voice search facility.
Not sure if this is new or not, as I don’t have an android phone…yet!

    BTW, its Cantonese, not Mandarin
