GE PJ1 Digital Camera With Built-in Pico Projector
When I think of cameras I don’t immediately think of GE, however at CES they unveiled a whole host of new additions to their Smart, Power and Power Pro Series with some really innovative features.
One camera in particular that grabbed my attention was the The GE PJ1. This camera includes a built in Pico projector so that you can beam images and video onto almost any surface up to 70 inches. Using DLP technology the PJ1 achieves a contrast ratio of 300:1 and a brightness of up to 13 lumens. A bit strange I know, but not something I have seen in a camera before. It also makes showing your pictures off to your gran or whoever, dead simple.
The compact camera shoots stills at 14.1mp resolution, HD movie at 720p and includes a 7x optical zoom (equivalent to 28-196mm, f/3.9-f5.8 in 35mm). Available in black, it has more than 20 shooting modes plus face auto exposure, smile and blink detection. It uses SD and SDHC memory cards up to 16 GB and a fully-charged PJ1 will allow around 70 minutes of projection time.
The PJ1 will be available February.
