HTC Desire 2 caught in the wild; MWC 2011 launch almost certain
HTC’s Desire looks set to be getting a refresh just in time for Mobile World Congress 2011 after a series of leaks over the weekend seemed to confirm the handset’s existence.
A spyshot of the HTC Desire 2 popped up over on the Android Forums, revealing that the original’s hardware buttons have been removed in favour of full capacitive controls. A front-facing camera also makes an appearance, despite the handset seeming noticeably smaller. Other speculative details include a Super AMOLED screen and the Gingerbread version of the Android OS both set for an appearance.
The image’s validity was backed up by a leaked Vodafone Germany product roadmap, in which the Desire 2 is specifically named.
Almost certainly a MWC 2011 launch for this one we’d say. We’ll bring more news as we get it direct from the show floor.

I had trouble finding the same info elsewhere. This was the first place that told me the answer. Thanks.
