Brits looking to 3DTV for Olympic Games coverage, say LG

37% of Brits will be looking to trade their gold medals in for a 3DTV in order to see next year’s Olympic Games in three dimensions, a new LG survey has revealed.

Speaking to 2,000 people, LG found that half of those questioned said that their next TV purchase would be a 3D-ready one, with 25% tempted by the prospect of the Euro 2012 footie tournament as a reason to grab one too.

Stephen Gater, CE Marketing Director, commented: “With almost two thirds of people saying that they’re looking to upgrade their TVs ahead of next year’s sporting events it’s a really exciting time for LG. Interestingly, the survey also revealed that a quarter of Brits are still yet to see a 3D flick at the cinema, despite the increased interest in popping a 3DTV into the living room.
