Archos 9 tablet gets 2011 Atom update

Despite being a Windows based tablet, the Archos 9 was a solid little performer when it launched in the back-end of 2009.
Packing Windows 7 starter edition, a 1.3 MP webcam, a 9 inch touchscreen and 1080p HD playback, it was a fine device before being outshone by the iPad and the wave of Android copycats left in Apple’s wake.
Not content with letting the old dog lie, Archos have today announced an updated version of the tablet, which will give the CPU a boost via a 1.2 GHz Intel Atom chip and a 32GB SSD.
Out now, this 2011 edition of the Archos 9 will set you back £400.
