Freddy Krueger joins Mortal Kombat roster
We’re not big fans of DLC here at Tech Digest (we’re still very much rooted in the 16-bit tradition of walking out of a shop with a full, complete game when we’ve purchased one) but we had to admit that the news of a particularly terrifying downloadable addition to the Mortal Kombat charater list pricked our interest.
Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and NetherRealm Studios today revealed that A Nightmare on Elm Street horror star Freddy Krueger will be taking on the likes of Sub-Zero and Sonia on the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions of the recent Mortal Kombat reboot.
A child-murdering maniac with knives attatched to his fingers, Krueger seems the perfect fit for MK’s uniquely gory brand of brawling. Krueger will wear his trademark hat and stripey sweater, and will get two unique fatality moves, as well as his own story progression through single player modes.
Invading consoles as well as your dreams from August, Krueger will set PS3 players back $5, or 400 Microsoft points on the Xbox 360.
