Hundreds queue for PS Vita UK GAME launch
Sony’s PS Vita handheld games console has now gone on sale in the UK, with GAME stores up and down the country hosting midnight opening events to meet demand.
The flagship Oxford Street branch saw the most activity, with hundreds of game fans queuing up outside the store to be among the first to own the console in Britain,
Zohaib Ali, pictured above, was the first through the doors, having camped out infront of the store since Sunday night for the privilege.
It appears however that most of the PS Vita sales will be coming from online retailers, with Amazon posting some particularly promising stats.
Not only has the 8GB PS Vita topped Amazon.co.uk’s bestseller chart on just pre-order sales, but PS Vita related software and peripherals also make up 70 per cent of the retailer’s top 20 video game pre-order charts.
We’ll have a full PS Vita on Tech Digest soon, so head back later for our full analysis of Sony’s latest handheld.
