E3 2012: Star Wars 1313 bounty hunter game revealed
The first E3 games show announcements are beginning to trickle in, and top of the list for sci-fi fans will be the unveiling of Star Wars 1313, a new third-person stealth and cover shooter from LucasArts.
Billed as a “mature” Star Wars title, the internally-developed title sees you take on the role of a bounty hunter, exploring the titular subterranean metropolis known as Level 1313 beneath the surface of the planet Coruscant.
“Exotic” weapons will be at your disposal as you look to uncover a criminal conspiracy, with gunplay and gadgets taking precedence over force powers through the “playable cinematic gameplay”.
“Star Wars 1313 dives into a part of the Star Wars mythos that we’ve always known existed, but never had a chance to visit,” LucasArts president Paul Meegan said in a statement.
No details yet on platforms or release dates, but it sounds at least like a step in the right direction for Star Wars fans burned by the recent lacklustre Kinect title.
