Battlefield 4 revealed, beta will land with Medal of Honor Warfighter
EA have announced that Battlefield 4, the sequel to last year’s smash-hit first person shooter, is on its way. Gamers will be able to get their hands on a playable beta build of the game with Medal of Honor Warfighter as a pre-order bonus.
“News just in,” tweeted EA UK marketing’s Dan Sheridan this afternoon. “Pre-order Warfighter and get access to #BF4Beta :).”
“The exclusive Battlefield 4 beta will be available in Fall 2013,” EA later confirmed in a statement.
“Additional details regarding Battlefield 4 will be revealed at a later date.”
EA Labels president Frank Gibeau added: “Though Battlefield and Medal of Honor Warfighter each offer players a completely unique experience, they are united by their underlying technology base – Frostbite. These are two of the hottest shooters, coming together to deliver a one-two punch of action, intensity and shooter entertainment.”
The timing of the beta is particularly interesting. “Fall 2013” would land just around the same time as we’re expecting to see successors to the PS3 and Xbox 360, on the basis that they’d be revealed that summer in time for a Christmas release. Could Battlefield 4 be a cross-generation title, hitting both current consoles and fancy next-gen ones?
