iPhone 5 pre-orders kick off on 12 September launch day?
Apple will lift the covers off the iPhone 5 on 12 September, according to a new rumour from iMore, with pre-orders for the device opening on the same day.
That puts shipments of the iPhone 5 down for nine days later, meaning the first wave of customers could be getting their hands on the phone on 21 September.
However, iMore also suggest that these dates may only be applicable to US markets, with international markets including the UK getting the iPhone 5 in October. The rumoured UK street date is now Friday 5 October.
With BGR citing an AT&T source for their October leak (with a regional AT&T staff training event pushed back in order to accommodate a “huge announcement” in September), things are looking reasonably solid here.
Septermber 12th could well be a busy day in Cupertino.

I’m glad they are fixing something that needed to be fixed for the past few years. The screen size. I have always loved the look of the iPhone but not the feel (edges are too squared) or the OS. I’m just bored of IOS and I’ve never even had an iPhone. Its just too plain. I’d love to see a ui overhaul but I fear they would just further make it like android. I try to remain unbiased so I’ll admit that iOS is SOLID but its just too plain for my taste. Thanks, @Christina
