Lenovo take on the Surface with the ThinkPad Tablet 2 Windows 8 slate
Microsoft’s Surface tablet wont be the only Windows 8 slate landing when the Redmond company’s new OS lands on October 8th. Lenovo have now showed their hand, revealing the ThinkPad Tablet 2.
A 10.1-inch Atom powered slate, it runs Microsoft’s new OS inside a 0.39-inch thick, 590g device.
Screen resolution is set at 1366×768, with 4G LTE connectivity, while you’ll also find two cameras onboard – an 8MP rear camera and 2MP front-facing one for video calling.
Fill size USB ports allow for expandable memory and peripherals to be attached, while there’s also HDMI output ports and optional fingerprint readers.
No price or clock speeds have been revealed yet, but that Atom processor hints at the potential for a full desktop mode being included, meaning you could get some serious work done with this slate.
Landing at some point in October, we’ll keep you posted as to how this device eventually turns out.
