The Mad Catz S.T.R.I.K.E 7 is the sickest, dubstep-soundtracked gaming keyboard we've ever seen
You have a gaming keyboard? Mad Catz laugh at your gaming keyboard! Laugh and spit on it, and point at your weeping face as you catch sight of their ridiculously lust-worthy S.T.R.I.K.E 7 professional gaming keyboard.
Revealed at the GamesCom show in Cologne, it looks more like the control panel to a starship than something used merely to control your Starcraft II and Battlefield 3 sessions. Check it out in the dubstep-tinged trailer above.
Taking its cues from Mad Catz barmy R.A.T gaming mice, it features a modular design that lets you customise all manner of sections of the keyboard, from individual keys, to the placement of the number pad, to the angle of the keyboard and palm rests.
Rounding off the wow-factor is a “V.E.N.O.M” touchscreen that supports gesture controls, and can be used to launch shortcuts, programmed macro commands and also lets you adjust game and media settings.“The S.T.R.I.K.E.7 is the first in a line of new keyboards and rounds out our PC gaming range of F.R.E.Q. headsets and R.A.T. gaming mice.” said Darren Richardson, the President and Chief Executive Officer of Mad Catz Interactive, Inc.
“Our engineers created a keyboard that delivers unprecedented customization and performance. We believe the S.T.R.I.K.E.7 will capture the imagination of passionate gamers and continues to demonstrate our ability to innovative in the core gaming sector.”
it’s not cheap at £249 from the GameShark Store, but that’s a serious amount of keyboard on display. We can’t guarantee it’ll make you a better gamer, but at least you’ll feel like your piloting the Millennium Falcon while you’re being ganked in Warcraft.
