Oppo Find 5 HD 1080p Android handset heading to Chinese stores
The world’s first smartphone to feature a full HD 1080p screen is on its way to China, courtesy of Oppo.
The manufacturer states that its Find 5 HD handset will boast a 5-inch screen with a resolution of 1920x1080p, which would give it the highest pixel-per-inch density of any handset to date.
By way of comparison, the iPhone 5 has an impressive 326 pixels-per-inch, but the Find 5 would blow that out of the water with 441ppi display.
The rest of the spec sheet is similarly impressive, with the Find 5 HD housing 2GB of RAM, a Qualcomm 1.5GHz processor and 12MP camera. Android 4.1 Jelly Bean is the operating system of choice, with Bluetooth 4.0 and Wi-Fi a/b/g/n also under the hood.
It sounds great! So good in fact that the team over at Android Central who uncovered the handset believe it too good to be true.
Eitherway, it’s unlikely to reach western shores, but Oppo are definitely becoming a manufacturer to keep an eye out for. Their Finder handset was similarly headline grabbing, with a thickness of just 6.65mm.
