Redesigned Myspace reopens for all with free Justin Timberlake "Suit & Tie" single, overshadowed by Facebook yet again
Myspace is back! On exactly the same day that the internet is fixed on rumours concerning Facebook’s big announcement this evening. Doh!
Yep, Zuckerberg has stolen Myspace’s thunder once again, in much the same way his social network stole the majority of Myspace’s users the first time around.
Today marks the public launch of the newly redesigned Myspace, following a few months in private beta testing.
Head over to new.myspace.com and you can sign up for the new-look site, using an existing Myspace account, or email address, Twitter and even a Facebook account. Ouch.
Also overshadowing the launch is co-owner Justin Timberlake, who has taken over the front page of Myspace to promote his comeback single “Suit & Tie”. It seems that Timberlake has taken the “Myspace” moniker a bit literally.
The new Myspace has a keen focus on music, but again the change may be too little too late, with services like Spotify (tied into Facebook) serving millions of users’ social music needs.
