Xbox One Kinect will scan and redeem download codes
There are few things I hate more in the world than redeeming download codes on a gaming console. Without a keyboard, it’s a painstaking task using the onscreen virtual keyboard with a controller to tap out dozens of digits and numbers, and even more frustrating trying to edit any mistakes you may have tapped in.
So, whether you agree with Microsoft’s always-connected Kinect policy for the Xbox One or not, the news that the camera motion sensor will be able to scan and redeem barcodes for download codes will have you shedding tears of joy.
Confirmed by Microsoft’s Marc Whitten on Twitter, it appears that Microsoft will be including some sort of QR code functionality into the Kinect’s capabilities.
It sure beats using it for Kinect Star Wars, anyway.
