tomb-raider-hunting-deer.jpgOn the face of things, free games bundled in with PC graphics cards seem like great deals, regularly popping in top games alongside the hardware to power them. The problem is, if you’re a hardcore PC gamer to begin with, chances are that you’ve already got the free game in question.

AMD are looking to change that with their new “Never Settle Forever” deal, letting gamers have their pick of games from a selection that will be offered alongside the company’s GPUs.

Split into three tiers, greater rewards are offered to those who cough up the cash for the pricer graphics cards.

The entry level tier pairs the cheaper AMD Radeon HD 7770 series graphics card with a single game, from a choice of Sleeping Dogs, Far Cry 3, Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon, Deus Ex: Human Revolution, Dirt 3 or Dirt Showdown.

The second tier is for buyers of the AMD Radeon HD 7780, and offers two free games along with the GPU, adding Hitman Absolution and DmC: Devil May Cry to the above options.

Finally, the pricey AMD Radeon HD 7990 will come with three games, adding the latest Tomb Raider game to the above game options.

“The problem with game bundles is that, for some gamers, giving people a curated selection of games doesn’t work,” said AMD gaming and graphics PR Robert Hallock during a call yesterday reported by Tech Radar.

“We think we can do better than giving people a fixed set of games. The really powerful thing about this program is that for the first time, it gives gamers the ability to choose the games that they want the most.”

Gamers have until the 31 December 2013 to redeem their free game coupons, but it may be wise to hold off redeeming it straight away: AMD state that more games will be added to the reward program before the end of the year, so if the above don’t take your fancy something better may be sitting waiting a little way down the line.
