There doesn’t appear to have been many surprises – with the PS3 exclusion The Last of Us dominating a number of big awards – including Best Game, Best Story and Action & Adventure Game. It’s not all bad news for the GTA5 team though – who picked up a best design award, and also best British game (it was actually developed in Scotland, not Los Angeles).

It’s also nice to see Lucas Pope’s Papers, Please pick up a gong in the strategy category – the game is widely viewed to be a good example of games with a conscience, as players have to play an east European border guard, having to balance corruption and doing the right thing.

Tearaway on the PS Vita also performed very strongly indeed, picking up a couple of awards – which means that out there not only does someone own a PS Vita, but they’ve been playing it too.

So what do you think of the winners? Let us know if you thought the best game won in the comments.
