Blackberry: Still not dead; Unbox the Z3
Blackberry have lifted the the lid on a brand new phone – let’s party like it’s 2008!
Though Blackberry’s mobile business is widely regarded to be a dead man walking, rather than put it out of it’s misery with a revolver and a glass of whisky in a manner by which Richard Madeley would approve, the company are limping on – posting the “official unboxing video” for their latest handset, the Z3.
Don’t get too excited if you’re a power user though – the handset isn’t designed to set the world on fire, but is in fact a budget handset aimed at the Indonesian market, of all places.
According to Pocket Lint it has a 5″ screen with a 960×540 display, 8GB of storage and a 5 megapixel camera… and of course, you’d be saddled with the Blackberry 10 operating system and only a handful of apps to play with.
Still, it’s nice to see there’s some life left in the old dog – and even though they may be in decline, it can still raise the occasional pique of interest. Thinking about it, that would make Blackberry the perfect sponsor for The Simpsons.

Handful of apps? BlackBerry 10 phones run their 130000 own apps plus 98% of android ones so the BBs have the most apps of all smartphones. With them accepting a 128 GB microSD card, NFC for contactless payment, fastest browser in the industry etc, they are also the ultimate tech (although this economy model may not be). Ever try a 5″ Z30–awesome!
