E4 to broadcast Mario Kart 8 races
With only a week to go until the release of the hotly anticipated Mario Kart 8 on WiiU, Nintendo has announced plans to broadcast player races on E4, using the Mario Kart TV feature.
Whilst essentially a dressed up TV advert, its a fun idea. The plan is for around 8:10pm for five nights on E4 during an advert break, Nintendo will show one of the winning races every night. The run of adverts will be between the game’s release on the 30th May until the 2nd June. It should make a nice change of pace from endless repeats of The Big Bang Theory.
To make this work, in game players can choose to upload a recording of their race to Miiverse after completing it to Mario Kart TV. Nintendo is also releasing a Mario Kart TV app for mobile phones to enable watching back when not on your WiiU too.
The best bit? Apparently the five E4 competition winners will also get a real-life Mario Kart trophy.
