Galaxy S5 challenges the iPhone 5S as UK's most popular phone
Samsung’s Galaxy S5 is off to a good start, according to the uSwitch Mobile Tracker, as it challenges the iPhone 5S and 5C as the “most popular” phone.
Unfortunately, the methodology used isn’t entirely clear, but the tracker is apparently based on pre-orders, sales and “live searches”. In the ranking, the iPhone 5S and 5C remain in the top two slots – but with Galaxy S5 has gone straight in at number 3.
Here’s the full chart:
The rest of the list isn’t hugely surprising either – the HTC One M8, Sony Xperia Z2 and Google Nexus 5 all put in appearances as the flagship phones of their respective companies.
Unfortunately no numbers have been provided to give us some context on just how far the 5S is in terms of “popularity”, though if Google Trends is anything to go by only now, towards the end of Apple’s product cycle is the S5 matching the 5S – expect any iPhone 6 release to blow Samsung out of the water again.
