At the Google Play store, the Samsung Gear Live can be ordered for £169, and will start shipping on July 7 – as will LG’s similarly-specced G Watch, which is also available to buy and priced £10 cheaper at £159.

Both smartwatches are also available to order in the US, priced at $199 and $229, respectively.

Samsung has revealed that the Gear Live will come with a 1.63in 320×320 screen, a 1.2GHz Snapdragon 400 processor, IP67 certification, a built-in heart rate monitor, 512MB of RAM and 4GB of storage.

The Gear Live is available in any colour you like, as long as that colour is black.

LG said the G Watch features a 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor, coupled with an always-on 1.65-inch IPS (280×280 pixels) display, 4GB of built-in storage, 512MB of RAM, a 400mAh battery, Bluetooth 4.0 connectivity, and IP67 certification. It will be available in Black Titan and White Gold, said LG.
