Virgin TV Anywhere launches on Kindle Fire
Kindle Fire and Virgin Media users have reasons to smile this afternoon: Virgin has just launched its TV app on Amazon’s app store, making it available on most Kindle Fire devices.
The app is analogous to Sky Go – offering 91 live TV channel streams and over on-demand content from most major providers. Virgin is keen to point out that it has beaten Sky to the punch – with Sky Go still missing from Kindle Fire. In addition to watching TV, the app also enables users to manage their Virgin Tivo box, being able to schedule and delete recordings.
The news comes just as Virgin finally managed to do a deal to bring Sky Sports in full to its platform, with all of the sports channels available on TV, and soon in the specialist separate apps for mobile devices.
Virgin TV Anywhere should work with the second generation Kindle Fire, the Fire HD 7, Fire HD 8.9, Fire HDX and Fire HDX 8.9, as well on an many iOS and normal Android devices.
Expect to see David Tennant on TV selling his soul for the Branson bucks and pointing this development out soon.
