WATCH: Star Wars recreated in Minecraft

The dedication of some Minecraft players is astonishing. But rather than build a blocky cathedral, “Paradise Decay”, as he’s known, has decided to recreate the original Star Wars film, A New Home, shot-for-shot in Minecraft.
The film is almost finished, and the trailer below has been posted as a bit of a teaser. Unfortunately due to the bewildering length of copyright laws there’s no audio from the film – but apparently when the full thing is released you should be able to play the real Star Wars DVD in the background and have it sync up perfectly.
It looks astonishing – and is quite an achievement, and clearly the product of thousands of hours work. If only the internet could harness its powers for good instead of neutral.
