HTC making a Windows version of the HTC One M8?
HTC could be working on a version of the HTC One M8 that has the same hardware that we’re familiar with, but which runs Windows Phone. At least according to a tweet and some informed speculation.
According to Phones Review there have been rumours about the new handset, which will apparently also feature a “bootloader” that will enable those in the know to load Android on to their phones too – allowing you to dual boot between Android and Windows Phone, just like how a PC can easily dual-boot between Linux and Windows.
The continued rumours were prompted by a Chinese leaker sending the following tweet:
HTC W8 bootloader supports HTC M8#UL and M8#WL…Devs, can you port Windows Phone 8.1 to HTC M8?

This wouldn’t be the first time an HTC has run Windows Phone – with the HTC 8X a few years ago opting for the operation system. Similarly, dual booting phone OS isn’t a new idea with previous talk of other handsets doing similar.
HTC is holding a big press event next week, where we’ll hopefully learn more.
