Rumours abound of next-gen iPad Air with anti-reflective coating
Some good news for those of you who are tired of all the iPhone 6 rumours – today we bring you rumours of the iPad Air 2 and iPad Mini 3.
Reports abound that ahead of an expected special event in September, Apple suppliers are supposedly ramping up the manufacturing of both the 9.7-inch iPad Air 2 and 7.9-inch iPad Mini 3, with the Air 2 expected to go on sale before the end of the year.
Most of the reports quote Bloomberg as saying that the successor to the iPad Air will feature a new anti-reflection coating designed to make reading easier.
The reports also claim that many of the popular iPhone capabilities will be ported to the Air 2 and Mini 3 – among them the Touch ID fingerprint scanner that Apple introduced with the iPhone 5S.
And it is rumoured that both tablets will get upgraded A8 processors that are both faster and more efficient, and the Air 2 may also gain an improved eight-megapixel camera.
In other iPad rumours, Apple Insider recently reported that “photos of a leaked’ chassis supposedly bound for the ‘iPad Air 2’ showed off recessed volume control buttons and a revamped speaker grille layout”.
Tomorrow, expect reports of rumours about the iPad Air 3, iPad Mini 4 and iPhone 7…
