HTC announces Desire 820 – a midrange phablet
HTC has unveiled the latest edition to its mid-range handset range: The HTC Desire 820. It’s big.
The 820 is a successor to the Desire 816 (us neither) and is powered by a Snapdragon 615 processor. The screen is a large-for-midrange 5.5″. Crucially too the handset has HTC’s “Boomsound” dual front-facing speakers.
On the rear, the camera is a nice 13MP, with the front-facing camera being a stonking 8MP for selfies. Apparently you’ll be able to apply “live make-up” on the front camera too, changing the softness of the image and so on before taking a snap.
Looks-wise the phone is set to come in a number of different colours – including some with different coloured trims. It’ll also support HTC’s Dot View case.
We’ll let you know when we hear about pricing and UK availability.
