Apple adds 14 day app store refund option for UK and EU customers
Ever bought an app or a song accidentally? The good news is that you might be able to get your money back – as Apple has introduced a 14-day refund window for European users.
According to IBTimes, the change is due to new EU regulations, and as a result the refund window only applies to iTunes and App Store purchases made in Europe – the rest of the world isn’t so lucky.
Apple isn’t making it hugely easy to get a refund though: to get your cash back you either need to use the “Report a problem” button or provide a “written statement” – suggesting it is handled on a case-by-case basis, rather than automatically by a machine.
Still – this will be good news for parents who find their kids running up a massive bill, and good news for consumers who in a moment of weakness bought a U2 album.
