Polaroid CEO Scott Hardy speaks to Tech Digest about the Cube, tablets and more
Polaroid has long one of the most iconic brands in sunglasses, photography and consumer electronics.
Founded in 1937, Polaroid is most famous for its polarised sunglasses and its instant film cameras, which reached the market in 1948., and continued to be the company’s flagship product line until the February 2008 decision to cease all production in favor of digital photography products.
The rise of digital photography caused the company some grief, but now Polaroid is very much a trademark-licensing shop, attaching the brand name to tech products designed and developed by others.
Tech Digest caught up with current Polaroid CEO Scott Hardy in London this week for a chat about the new Cube camera, the company’s move into Android tablets, wearables, 3D TV and the future of the brand.
