WATCH: Star Wars “Despecialised”

With the new Star Wars trailer exciting millions we can’t help but think back to what came before. Disappointingly for many fans, despite 1080p being the norm there still is no official way to watch the original trilogy before George Lucas’s later “improvements” in glorious HD. But the fans have a plan.
Hardcore fans have been trying to piece together a 1080p version of Episode 4 as it was in 1977 by using a number of different sources – different prints of the film from different places, and even creating new matte paintings and creating new CG to recreate parts of the original film in HD.
