Nintendo finally agrees terms for YouTube streamers
Whilst the rest of the world has been on board with video game streaming via Twitch and YouTube for a number of years now, old man Nintendo has only just agreed to legally allow it – announcing the launch of the Nintendo Creators Program.
Peace is breaking out across YouTube as the Nintendo Creators Program provides a mechanism for Nintendo and the YouTubers to split advertising revenue – with 60% going to creators and 40% to Nintendo. Creators share will go up to 70% if their channels is dedicated exclusively to Nintendo content too.
The upshot is that we can also expect to see more Nintendo “Let’s Play” videos and the like – as the company won’t be issuing takedown notices on videos Smash Bros and Mario Kart.
YouTubers wanting to take part can sign up today to go legit.
