Google Translate helps paramedic deliver baby

In an almost too good to be true story for Google’s PR department, it has emerged that an Irish paramedic helped a Congolese woman give birth using the Google Translate app on his phone.
According to The Corkman, when en route to the hospital, the woman started giving birth a bit too early – and didn’t speak enough English to convey this to the driver. Though luckily, a quick thinking Garry McCann pulled out his phone and fired up Google’s app.
Using the app, he was able to translate back and forth into Swahili at speed (presumably using voice rather than text entry).
Its almost too perfect for Google, which has recently making a big deal about its Translate app, which can even work offline on Android.
