VLC adds in-app extension browser

VideoLAN player, which is perhaps better known as VLC is today launching version 3.0 – and with it is bringing an in-app extension browser that will help you make the best video player out there even more powerful.
According to PC World the new extension browser has been available for some time – but on the VLC website. This latest update bakes it into the app directly, giving app-store style convenience. Helpfully, there also looks set to be a built-in subtitle downloader.
The new version of the app also adds support for resuming videos and even interactive blu-ray menus.
The update will be coming not just to Windows, Mac and Linux, but to Windows Phone, Windows RT and (perhaps most intriguingly) Android TV too.
