YouView comes to Sony Bravia TVs
Sony and YouView have announced a new partnership that will see the on-demand platform rolled out to Sony’s 2015 range of Bravia TVs.
The upshot of the announcement is that Sony TV owners will gain access to YouView’s “Backwards” EPG, which enables users to scroll back in time through the schedules for the previous week and launch on-demand versions of programming. Bravia owners will also be able to use YouView’s integrated search, which enables searching across iPlayer, ITV Player, 4oD and Demand 5 simultaneously.
Apparently at the moment the new integration will only support the “Public Service” channels (ie: BBC, ITV, Ch4 and Ch5) – but further channel support could conceivably be rolled out in future.
