Both EE and O2 have confirmed this afternoon that they will be stocking the just announced HTC One M9.

M9

The M9 builds upon last year’s flagship model from the Chinese phonemaker, boosting the rear camera up to 20MP and added a wide-angle 5MP camera to the front. As you might expect, the Snapdragon 810 is pretty fast too.

Curiously, HTC says the new phone’s “Boomsound” speakers will offer Dolby 5.1 surround sound… on a phone. An update to the HTC Sense UI sees the introduction of a contextual home screen – changing the app shortcuts displayed depending on context. For example, displaying different apps when you’re at home and when you’re at work.

EE will be opening pre-orders for the new phone on March 9th (a week tomorrow), and it will be available in dual-tone silver, rose gold, or gunmetal grey.

It will also be stocking the M9 version of the Dot View case in Grey, Blue and Pink.

O2 is a bit more vague – only confirming that it will be offering the phone in gold/silver, and gunmetal grey. It will be available on the refresh tariff.

We’ll let you know when we have more details – such as the prices.

  • The HTC One M9 is a great smartphone. With an awesome design, top notch performance, great software and an improved camera, it should suit most users just fine. But at the same time it no longer sits at the top of the flagship smartphone pecking order.

  • “The M9 builds upon last year’s flagship model from the Chinese phonemaker” … Chinese phonemaker? Isn’t it Taiwanese any more? Is it HChC now? :v
