Twitter is awash with solar eclipse tweets this morning as well as brands jumping in with eclipse related hashtags to try to make money out of the natural phenomenon (#oreoeclipse is that really a thing?) in what is the first proper eclipse of the social media age.

But the fact is that for a lot of the UK there’s very little to see because of the cloud cover. Helpfully The Telegraph and I’m sure many others have live feeds so you can watch the solar eclipse complete with traffic noise and onlookers on your smartphone or computer all the way from Newquay where the weather is a little less cloudy. See below.

You can also get regular updates here of what is the best solar eclipse since 1999 over on The Guardian. There are also lots of funny eclipse related quips on Twitter of course. Here are just some of the most amusing.
