EE customers with iPhones – update now for wifi calling!
Share
Last night Apple quietly launched its iOS 8.3 update for iPhones – and whilst it appears fairly unremarkable (a few bug fixes, that seems to be about it), it does do one important thing: Wifi calling.
As we reported on Tuesday, EE has just launched support for wifi calling (it is the first UK network to do so) – and if you have an iPhone 5C, 5S, 6 or 6 Plus with the 8.3 update you too can join in the fun.
What it means is that even if there’s not any phone signal but you have wifi, you can still call and text without having to use a special app. Brilliant!
To enable wifi calling, you just need to switch it on in your iPhone’s settings.

Very significant new feature on the new update. The wifi calling feature could shake things up for apps like Viber. http://fusionofideas.com/detail/2073-permanent-custom-branding-for-ipad
