Frankfurt Motor Show: BMW i Vision Dynamics promises greater range than Tesla Model S
BMW is ramping up its commitment to Electric Vehicles with this new two door i Vision Dynamics Concept Car, unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show.
So far from BMW we’ve seen the £30,000 urban i3 and the £100,00 supercar i8. At the Frankfurt Motor show, BMW showed off this belting two-door model with the emphasis very much on performance.
Featuring a modified version of the grille seen on the new X7 iPerformance, it promises a top speed of 200 kilometers per-hour and zero to 100 Km/h (64 miles per-hour) in four seconds.
What’s more, BMW says it will have a range of 600km (372 miles) which is greater than even the Tesla Model S. However, the bad news is that it’s not expected to launch until at least 2021.
Sitting alongside this concept car at the Frankfurt Motor Show were two new i3 and i3s variants, a new Electric Mini as well as the Mini Countryman hybrid.
At the event BMW’s CEO Harold Kreuger confirmed that by 2025 BMW will have 25 electric models in its range with up to 12 of them being full electric. “Our top priority is electric mobility,” he said.
