Vauxhall has collected a prominent award for its all-new Corsa, receiving the Connected Car Award 2019 in the small and compact car category by German car magazine Auto Bild.

Voted for by readers of Auto Bild and its sister technology title, Computer Bild, the Connected Car Award recognises technological innovation within the automotive industry.

The fifth-generation Vauxhall Corsa was praised for its excellent connectivity, including a minimum 7-inch touchscreen as standard. Infotainment configurations include real-time navigation updates and live traffic information to keep drivers on the move. There’s also the Vauxhall Connect’s eCall feature which will  connect you with a trained advisor and automatically alert the emergency services in the event of an incident.

The new Corsa is the latest in a number of Connected Car Awards which the manufacturer has won in recent years, with the Insignia and Vivaro favoured by readers in previous competitions.

The new Corsa, which was crowned ‘Best Buy Car of Europe 2020’ by AUTOBEST in December, offers a range of powertrain options as well as reduced fuel consumption, refinement and flexibility across its high-efficiency petrol and diesel engines, claims the manufacturer.

It’s also equipped with numerous advanced driver assistance systems, such as Lane Departure warning with Lane Assist, Forward Collision Alert and Driver Drowsiness System to support the driver and reduce the risk of an accident. The class-leading Corsa is also available with Vauxhall’s revolutionary IntelliLux LED headlights, while Android Auto and Apple CarPlay feature as standard in the car’s line-up of infotainment systems.
