Shiny Video Review: Linx B-tube wireless speaker
Dan’s been slaving away on Tech Digest the last month or so, and if you’re web stalker-inclined, you may be interested to know this is his first solo video review. So, without further ado, check out his thoughts on the B-Tube wireless speakers from Linx above, which…
HTC launch event next week – will it be the touchscreen HSDPA Diamond?
Next Tuesday HTC is holding a London press conference where attendees can ‘witness the next wave of HTC innovation’.
HTC is already down in the books as being a member of the Open Handset Alliance schemewith Google, and will be releasing an Android handset later this year apparently, however it’s looking likely next Tuesday will usher in the Diamond model, a 2.8″ touchscreen HSDPA mobile, the first of the HTC clan to run on Windows Mobile 6.1….
LG doesn't want to miss out on any OLED action, announces 32" panel
Quite a lot of OLED news this week, with Samsung and Panasonic joining Sony to the super-thin panel race, and LG calling out after them “wait for me, guysch!” and announcing a massive 32″ screen.
Not much else is known about this mysterious 32″ OLED TV, except that LG’s factory in Paju, Korea, is ramping up the production of the panels, with the words ‘volume production’ being quoted. It looks likely that this 32″ TV is lined up for a 2011 release date, a couple of years after Samsung’s 2009 job. Hopefully…
Pioneer parties like it's 1999 with the DV-610AV DVD & SACD player
All those who thought SACD was dead, raise your hand! All those who’ve never even heard of SACD, raise your hand!
I’m so disappointed in all of you.
By the looks of things, Pioneer is too, as they’ve just announced a new DVD/SACD player, that should be dropping mid-year. The DV-610AV features upscaling technology, plus plays content from SACD,…
ASUS announces the bamboo Eco Books will launch in June, to the distress of pandas
Those attractive notebooks made from laminated bamboo look set to drop in June, according to a Chinese newspaper.
The reported price is NT$50,000, which converts to a concise $1,651.80, or £832. On the whole, ASUS notebooks tend to be quite affordable, so I would be very surprised if they charge the UK market over £1,000 for it. Their ‘Eco Book’ monikers…
RIM gets scared by oncoming 3G iPhone, potentially delays 3G BlackBerry 8900
BlackBerry…delaying the launch of their 3G 8900 handset…because of the imminent arrival of the 3G HSDPA iPhone? Sounds strange, but that’s what the ‘sources’ have told Fortune magazine.
Of course, the official reason behind the possible delay is due to ‘call quality concerns’, but it does seem fairly obvious that pushing the launch back from June to August will help RIM determine how much of a threat the 3G iPhone will be, and also avoid having the same launch date as the Apple handset. After all, no-one likes discovering at a party they’re wearing the same outfit as their worst enemy….

Shiny Video Review: Mario Kart on the Wii
Wii Fit may be on sale from today, but if you ask me, you should save all your pennies for Mario Kart on the Wii – if you can track one down, that is. I spent three hours last Saturday on Oxford Street, but to no avail.
Still, Simon has got his lucky mitts on a review copy, check out his thoughts on it in the video above, and if you’d like one, pick…
Fancy streaming web TV and radio on your Archos PMP? Or downloading porn? Now you can…
In addition to yesterday’s In-Car Holder GPS unit for the 605 WiFi, Archos announced a couple of other additions to their popular PMP, including a firmware update allowing for Adobe Flash Player 9 support, Windows Media Video 9 compatibility, a plug-in enabling access to Web TV shows and radio stations, an update to Archos TV+, and a content distribution deal with Paramount Pictures and Deutsche Welle. Phew!
Touting their 605 WiFi and 705 WiFi models as being the market’s only PMP supporting Adobe Flash Player 9, the upgrade for both that and WMV 9 can be downloaded for free if you already own one, however if you buy one now, you’ll find it’s automatically loaded with the update. These two supported…
