It’s all about MacBook Air for the geekarati this week, but Asus has a plan to win some attention back to its dinky Eee PC range. It seems the next-generation version of the laptop will have a touchscreen.

Scientists invent invisible keyboards. Can't they focus on cloaks?
Researchers at Carnegie Mellon University in the US have developed something called the Relative Keyboard, which is (kinda) an invisible keyboard. At least, you type on a blank touchscreen, and the software figures out what you meant to type by measuring the relative distance between your keystrokes.

BBC still committed to dual HD DVD and Blu-ray releases
The BBC has no plans to abandon HD DVD for its high-definition releases, despite the recent defection to Blu-ray of its distribution partner Warner Home Video. The Beeb says it’ll continue its policy of supporting both formats, following its policy with series like Planet Earth and Galapagos.

Heard about the Chocolate hob? No, this isn’t a dreadful joke. It’s a new cooktop from Siemens that comes with touch controls inspired (it seems) by LG’s Chocolate phone. The actual name for it is the touchSlider cooktop.
