CES 2008: Samsung launches Series 6 and Series 7 LCD HDTVs
It wasn’t just plasmas on show at Samsung’s CES press conference this morning. The company also unveiled new LCD tellies, the Series 6 and Series 7. They’re keen to shout about the new TVs’ design, which apparently takes inspiration from cars and fashion, in a “hint of amber naturally blended into the piano-black bezel frame” stylee.
CES 2008: Samsung unveils Q1 Ultra Premium UMPC
2008 could be a big year for teeny-tiny laptops (sorry, Ultra Mobile PCs), with the Asus Eee PC lighting a rocket under the market. Samsung showed off its new UMPC this afternoon during its press conference, and it's looking pretty nifty.
CES 2008: Panasonic press conference liveblog
It’s 11am on press conference day at CES, and next up is Panasonic. I’m liveblogging it, although due to sketchy Wi-Fi access, I won’t be publishing the post until afterwards. Just so you know. CES 2008: Will the Bel Canto Ultra-Dock persuade audiophiles to get iPods?

It’s a waterproof case for iPod Nanos that includes stereo speakers, and is apparently made from “bullet proof polycarbonate materal”. Which is good news if people regularly shoot at your iPod Nano during pool parties.

Hey, y’know that massage chair that I wrote about earlier, that reduces the strain of gravity by tipping you back then gives you a good going-over? Well, Susi from Shiny Shiny tried it too, and managed to talk while being squidged. Check the video above.
CES 2008: Aquallusion iTube wants to be Lava Lamp 2.0
Aren’t we well shot of lava lamps? They were useless. Students liked them, I suppose. Anyway, Aquallusion is a company happy to cite lava lamps as inspiration for its iTube light, which combines sound, colours and a cool visual effect resembling bubbling water.
CES 2008: Hurrah for network-enabled automatic urine collectors
It might look like a teasmaid, but you wouldn’t fancy a brew made from the contents of this gadget. It’s taking the piss! No, literally. It’s an automatic urine collector, which was on display at the CES Unveiled press event tonight, on the stall of an organisation called PUCC (P2P Universal Computing Consortium).
