Creative has confirmed that poorly-kept secret that did the tour of the tech blogs a few weeks ago, and announced their low-end camcorder, the ‘Vado’, which is sure to stick a knife in Disgo’s, err, USB slot…

An inbuilt USB stick enables easy transfer of video files from the 2GB of internal storage capacity, to your PC for uploading to your various social networking sites, where your friends can leave witty and insightful comments on them like ‘dude that makes me rofl so bad!’

Giving Panasonic’s HDC-SD9 a run for its money, Sony has announced the HDR-TG1 camcorder in Korea, which is reportedly the world’s new ‘smallest full HD’ model.

Measuring in at 1.3″ wide by 4.7″ tall and 2.5″ deep, it weighs 282g, which is quite a bit heavier than the Panny’s 115g, but still physically smaller, with the Panasonic measuring 2.5″ x 2.6″ x 4.9″. Alright Sony, you’ve trumped them there admittedly.

Launching on April 20th, it also records at 1920 x 1080p resolution…

Panasonic today announced four new camcorders in the UK, two to join their high-def range, the other two to languish in the inferior standard definition range. Standard def, bah! Who wants it?

The two full-HD camcorders announced are the HDC-HS9 (pictured above) and HDC-SD9. Offering 1920 x 1080p recording, at 25fps and a 17Mbps bit rate, it features a 60GB hard disk, but you can also record onto SD or SDHC via the card slot. Oh, and did I mention it’s got an impressive 10x optical zoom too? That’s the best part, if you ask me…
