IFA 2008: Logitech unveil Squeezebox Boom, Digital Video System and Z-500 wireless speakers
Three radically different products, one post. I call that a challenge. Logitech have just unveiled a host of new products aimed at wildly different markets. They have just one thing in common. They’re all actually really useful, in their own ways.
First up is the Squeezebox Boom. Now that’s a fantastic name. I’m sitting here saying it right now, and enjoying every moment of it. It’s a network music player, meaning that it’ll let you listen to your music collection from anywhere in the house. Just plug it into the power, give it your wireless network’s password, and you’re off…

An iPod to iPod Transfer Gadget – NOT for the iPhone.
A new gadget called the 'iPod® to iPod® Transfer Device' is on the market which allows you to 'quickly and easily transfer music, video, and pictures from one iPod to another, without the use of a computer'. You simply hook the two iPods up bottom to bottom (like a couple of mating mayflies), and as long as you have already pre-set your iPod to 'disk drive' mode, the crazy gadget allows your iPods to talk to each other and shift over it's content from one t' tother..

OPINION: No lawsuits for German P2P sharers is a good thing
Lucky Germans – a bunch of law enforcement officials in Germany have declared today that they won’t be prosecuting the vast majority of file-sharing lawsuits.
Basically, they’ve (very sensibly) decided that home users aren’t worth bothering with and will only go after P2P users that share on a “substantial, commercial” level. What level is that? I’m glad you asked. Being a German, the state prosecutor of Nort-Rhine Westphalia has defined it in very prescise terms…
