LG adds solar power to its ereaders
The panel – which is 0.7mm in thickness and weighs 20gm, has been designed to fit into LG's range of 6inch panel ereaders. Apparently four or five hours of sunlight will give the ereader enough power to keep the user reading for a whole day.
Amazon fudges UK Kindle ereader launch
From 19th October Brits will be able to buy it from Amazon's US Store and then import it to the UK. The downside of this is that any purchasers will have to pay import tax which should bump up the cost of the ereader to around £200.
Another inbound ereader – the IREX DR800SG 3G
The specs look pretty good with the IREX DR800SG sporting an 8.1inch screen, two Gigabytes of storage, memory card expansion and a stylus input. It is black and white at the moment thought the company says it will launch a colour version next year.

Google deal turns Coolerbooks into World's largest ebookstore
Its sudden massive growth has been sparked by a deal with Google that allows COOLERBOOKS.com is to include over 1 million public domain books (close to half a million outside the US) from Google Books in its online library. All the books are of course free and compatible with the COOL-ER readers.
Sony adds two more models to Reader line up
Sony is extending its eBook line up with two new models. The Reader Pocket Edition and the Reader Touch Edition will both be available to pre-order from tomorrow (26th August) from Sony.co.uk and Sony Centres.
The Reader Pocket Edition sports a 5inch electronic paper display packaged and is available in rose pink and silver finishes. It can store approximately 350 standard eBooks and provides up to two weeks of reading on a single battery charge.
