Samsung launches their high end Yepp YP-P3 in Korea
It’s a bit of a day for portable players of one type or another and although the Samsung Yepp YP-P3 here is not quite as pulse-raising as the Maxian, it does make for interesting competition for the iPod Touch.

Sony prepping touch screen, wi-fi, 16 and 32GB WALKMAN-brand media player
Sony is preparing to jump on the touchable media player bandwagon, according to sources, with an all singing, all dancing, all touching PMP set to be unveiled at this coming January’s Consumer Electronic Show tech binge.
The WALKMAN-badged player will, so some bloke on the internet told some other bloke on the internet, have a 3″ OLED screen for super-nice colour reproduction and long enough battery life to watch…

Deafness charity finds 67% of you lot are listening to music TOO LOUDLY
A survey conducted by the Royal National Institute for Deaf People discovered that two-thirds of us are listening to MP3 players at dangerously loud volume levels that could break our earholes for good.
The RNID accosted 246 people in the streets of Edinburgh and plugged listening gadgets into the headphone sockets of their MP3 players, testing the volume output levels. The level considered safe for blasting music…
UPDATED: New Zunephone Rumours
I know, I know, this one’s been round the block a few times, but given Microsoft’s dalliances with portable media players, and the fact that they own the most popular smartphone OS in Windows Mobile, it’s nearly a given that there’ll be some sort of Zunephone before long.
The rumours have resurfaced after the announcement that Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer will be delivering the keynote address – the spot which was previously filled by Bill Gates. Microsoft almost always unveils something at CES, and given that we know plenty about Windows 7 already, a Zunephone is on the cards.
SHINY VIDEO REVIEW: E-matic 4GB MP3 Player/Camera
In the video above, Zara takes a look at a camera/MP3 player hybrid device. It’s a bit of a strange combination, especially as there’s no mobile phone in there anywhere, but considering the specs of the little thing, it’s remarkably cheap for what you’re getting.
Unfortunately it doesn’t seem to be available in the UK yet. Ah well – next Christmas perhaps.

RXS Bluetooth adaptors let you hook up your MP3 player
RXS has just launched a couple of Bluetooth adaptors for MP3 players that’ll let you stream your tunes over to a Bluetooth-capable car stereo, or pair of speakers or headphones. There’s an iPod version (pictured above) and a rather clunkier version that plugs into any 3.5mm headphone jack that’s available.
The iPod version weighs just 4.5g, sits nicely against against your iPod, and comes in black, white and silver. The 3.5mm version is much bigger, contains a rechargable battery, charged via USB, with 10 hours of listening time battery life, and comes in white and black.
If you own a Bluetooth enabled car stereo or set of headphones, then these are a brilliant way to get stuff hooked up. They’re not the best-looking accessories in the world, and a little pricy at £30, but if you need the connectivity, then they’ll provide it.
