Shiny Video Preview: Philips' GoGear range of MP3 players
You just saw Susi taking a look at the Design Collection of TVs from Philips, now how about the GoGear MP3 player range? I mentioned one of them, the SA52, the other day which has 4GB of storage and can play…
Philips doesn't mess about, with the DC185, DC910, DC570, DC200, DC1010 and BTM630 iPod docks
Philips may’ve announced the GoGear SA52 media player, but they still know iPod-friendly docking stations are a clear winner, unveiling four new products today.
With the DC185, DC910, DC570, DC200, DC1010 and BTM630, there’s something for all the dock fans.
Pictured, the DC910 charges as it plays, although I doubt it offers Arcam’s smart technology where it stops charging once the battery is full. If you don’t own an iPod, that’s fine by Philips, as they also have USB and SD card slots so you can play choons thattaway too…
Philips announces their GoGear SA52 PMP with 4GB capacity
Apologies, this is turning into a Philips-themed day!
The company has just announced the GoGear SA52 PMP, which plays MP3, WMA and AAC music files, along with WMV video. With 4GB of storage and a 2.8″ QVGA LCD display, it also features some controversial audio ‘upscaling’, where the Digital Signal Processor adds ‘quality’ to the compressed audio tracks.

Fancy downloading Spaced, Peep Show and Skins on iTunes? Channel 4 TV shows now available
A huge boost to both Channel 4 and iTunes has been announced today, with the teenager-friendly UK TV network now offering its premiere shows on the UK iTunes.
Classics such as Spaced, Teachers, Peep Show, Black Books, Shameless, Monarchy and newbie Skins will be available for download, at £1.89 per episode, a far cry from the $1.99 the US market pays.
An obvious ploy for recruiting youngsters to download their favourite comedy shows by legal means, the episodes will be perfectly formatted for viewing on iPods. Whether you want Spaced’s Marsha “just popping down to Threshers to do the weekly shop” Klein perfectly formatted is another question entirely…

The Roland Edirol R-09HR MP3 player – proof MP3 players DID exist in the 1970s
Silver buttons? Chunky grey plastic? Company name that sounds like a pesticide the government banned in the 1950s after finding it lead to babies being born with more than the usual number of heads?
Yes, all of those, packed into the super-ugly form-factor of the updated Roland Edirol high-end music player…
Zune heading to the UK? I wouldn't hold your breath…
The Microsoft Zune – released in the US in 2006, released in Europe in…well, that’s anyone’s guess. But judging by the latest rumour, it’s unlikely to be before 2009.
Shiny Video Preview: YP-S3 MP3 player from Samsung
The other night, Zara and I got hands-on with a couple of new MP3 players from Samsung. If you liked the YP-S2 pebble player yesterday, check out my video above of the YP-S3, a colourful range due to hit shelves in June, in 2GB, 4GB and 8GB capacities…
