SIG: Plogg – energy monitoring bluetooth plugs for a greener home and grid
Bluetooth techonology doesn’t all have to be all about handsfree kits and trinkets for mobile phones. No, indeed something as simple as a household plug can bred with the short range wireless system to produce the Plogg, which is used to monitor the energy consumption of your household appliances and, eventually, even prevent blackouts, but I’ll allow the nice man to explain…

Next up at the SIG table is a smorgas board of excellent Bluetooth peripherals designed predominantly for the mobile phone. Freedom Input will provide GPS to the GPS-less and QWERTYs to the QWERTY-less and a little more besides…
SIG: Mr Handsfree Blue Alert – bluetooth speaker and speed camera avoidance system
I was slightly bombarded with speakerphone hands free kits at the SIG Bluetooth event and, as old and unimaginative as Bluetooth car solutions are, I quite impressed by the Blue Alert from Mr Handsfree. Yes, it's still a speakerphone but it's got the rather useful third dimension of speed camera alerts.
SIG: Motorola S9 HD Bluetooth Headset

As part of the joys of working at Tech Digest, I get to sit in front of a camera and review stuff. Here’s my first effort – the Nokia 6220 Classic. It’s a remarkably good phone, considering it’s a “classic” model, and the specs are surprisingly good, but I won’t spoil the review for you any more than that.

Shiny Video Review: Philips GoGear SA 2840 MP3 Player
I’ve been having a bit of a play with the Philips GoGear SA 2840 MP3 player. Not a bad device at all. It feels a little light in the hand but the OLED display takes it ahead of the iPod Shuffle…
Shiny Preview: Nikon P6000 – the daddy of the compact world
You may have had a look at the Nikon P6000 in amongst all the other Coolpix releases this morning. You can’t have missed it, it stands out like a sore thumb, largely because it looks more like an SLR than a standard digi and it costs about the same at a whopping but worth it £429. Now available in 3D – well, through your 2D screen.
